Use the part of the title you remember
A distinctive word often works better than a long pasted filename. Remove “1080p,” codec fragments and the extension before searching. Accents and ordinary punctuation need not be perfect: try Amelie if you cannot easily type Amélie. A known release year can separate different versions.
Choose the right search field
Title search follows film and series names. Cast search follows performers, and Director search follows filmmakers. Selecting the right field keeps a common surname from being confused with a movie title. Change back to Title when you return to an ordinary film search.
Let one filter do one job
Original language describes the production. Genre narrows the kind of story. Release year and the precise date fields narrow when a film first appeared. Movie length is for films with a recorded running time, not for the total length of a television series. Add filters one by one so you can see which choice removes a useful result.
No results is a useful signal
Reset filters before assuming the title is absent. A film you remember as a thriller may also be classified under crime or drama. Try its actor, original title or another year when memories are uncertain. For same-name results, open the versions page.
